Experience the living heritage of Azerbaijani carpet art

Built around the weavers themselves, the festival celebrates the people whose hands, patience, and artistry continue to sustain one of Azerbaijan's most treasured traditions. In 2026, this program takes on added significance as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of Carpet Weavers' Day, established by presidential order in 2016 and marked annually on 5 May.

During the festival, representatives of 11 regional studios of Azerkhalcha OJSC will introduce visitors to the many stages of carpet making, including wool spinning, natural dyeing, traditional weaving techniques, and the processing and finishing of carpets.

Among the featured guests is Arif Letifovich from Dagestan, Russian Federation, who will lead a special workshop on natural thread dyeing in the national pavilions area at Gosha Gala Square.

These master classes offer more than demonstration: they create a space for exchange, where visitors can engage directly with artisans and experience the living heritage of Azerbaijani carpet art in a vivid and memorable way.
